Four More Tests Positive Taking India's Swine Flu Cases to 63

Four more persons tested positive for swine flu taking the total number of cases in the country to 63.

The two cases were reported from New Delhi, one case each was reported from Mumbai and Pune.

The fresh cases in Delhi included that of a 25-year-old man, who traveled from the US, and a 29-year-old woman, who came to the city from Canada.

In Pune, a 24-year-old man who came from the US tested positive for the virus while the case in Mumbai involved a 23-year-old woman who traveled from Melbourne.

Of the total 63 cases, 37 have been discharged while rest of the patients remains admitted to various hospitals across the country.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has decided to do away with dual testing of blood samples for swine flu at the National Institute of Virology in Pune and the National Institute for Communicable Diseases in New Delhi

Earlier, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that the government has adopted a "multi-pronged strategy" to curb the spread of swine flu virus and there was no reason to panic.

Azad said that there was "no need to worry about the influenza as it is fully curable" and enough medicines are available in the country.
